I am not really a fan of Tablo or Epik High. They have had some songs I have liked in the past but nothing really drew me in. Naul on the other hand (the one who sings the chorus) has been my favorite for almost a decade. He is the reason I decided to listen to this song. I am glad I did. Naul’s voice is too beautiful.

It is award season in Korea and a lot of these idol groups will put on elaborate performances of their songs depending on how much time they are given in the program. I have not watched one of these since December 2003, I think. Even today, I only watched the U-Kiss performance above after it had aired. I don’t really like awards season in their case, because I don’t think their fanbase in Korea is big enough for them to win any of those big awards (while any recognition is nice, ‘most photogenic’ is not what I aspire to on their behalf).
I hope I am proven wrong though.
In any case, I think the remix itself is pretty neat and worked well with the performance. I love that they wore all black, and the slightly different take on the nanta dance during the chorus was lovely. [expert analysis concluded]

Don’t really have much of anything to add. I think it is a good song and I like the theme of the video. I will be honest and say I am not too fond of the ‘rap’ parts at the end. But, they segue into Soohyun and Hoon sounding really good, so I guess I will not mind them so much. I am also surprised at how much of Soohyun we get to see in the video (not complaining at all.)

Surely, the final on everyone’s mind today was Tsonga vs Federer (Congrats to the Fed), but I was also looking forward to the Helsinki Challenger final between Daniel Brands and his BFF Matthias Bachinger. Sadly, I did not get to see it. However, Daniel won it in two straight tiebreak sets. So, he officially ends his year with a few good wins under his belt, and he creeps closer to the top 100. He may have to play qualifying to get into Australian Open, but we’re not there yet.
Congrats to Brandy and I hope he has a nice break before the new season.

1.) This is the first November since 2006 that I did not even attempt NaNo. I regret it.

2.) So, a couple of weeks ago, I found out that Haruki Murakami had a new book “1Q84“coming out. I squeed. I downloaded the preview from iBooks and squeed some more. Then I read the reviews (e.g. this one from nytimes). Now, I have confusion.

3.) A sneak preview of the soon to be released Japanese single from U-Kiss ‘Tick Tack’. I dislike that it is spelled that way but I will get over it. To be honest, I am excited for it.

4.) I stopped watching Glee for various reasons more than a year ago. I am not going to start watching again any time soon, but the Rumor Has It/Someone Like You mashup was almost perfect.

5.) WTFs starts tomorrow!! I am pumped! I even made a gif especially for someone: i know my schadenfreude is pathetic. it really isn’t schadenfreude.

6.) I watched the first hour and a half of ‘Random Hearts’ today. I could not finish it because I did not like the direction it was taking. I mean, it is predestined that they will start seeing each other, then either it works out or it doesn’t. But, I guess I couldn’t be bothered to find out whether it did or not.

7.) Why have I not watched ‘Elf’ yet?

9.) As someone who grew up watching the film ‘Coming to America’ on a pretty regular basis, this halloween costume is awesome.

11.) You know, ‘Can’t Let You Go’ by Itym is a really fun driving song. So is ‘Neverland’.

12.) I would like ‘시끄러’ (Shut Up) so much better if the little ‘rapping’ in the middle were absent.

13.) Can you believe Fernando Verdasco is 28? I guess in my mind, he will always be 25.

14.) So, about 12 years ago, a friend took me to a Christian music shop where I bought a cassette on a whim. To this day, I regret being cheap and not buying the CD instead. I have found that I like this group of people’s interpretation of the songs better than the originals. I  found only one of these songs on Youtube: Holding Out Hope to You.

15.) I need to make a mega post on Yoo Naul and his amazing voice.

16.) Years ago, I downloaded Seo Ji Won(RIP)’s  ‘My Tears Gather’ from Soompi. I was deep in my kpop ballad phase and I loved it so much. I very recently saw that U-Kiss had performed it on a TV show. I realize that as a group, they need to divvy things equally, but I would love to hear the entire thing sung by Soohyun, Hoon, & Kevin.

17.) I have some life changes coming up and frankly I am scared shitless.

To be honest, this song had to grow on me. Even though I have come to like it quite a bit, I thought ‘Neverland’ had the better chance at winning #1 on the music shows. Sadly, neither song won it. It was hard seeing Soohyun so unhappy during the last few performances. Juniper-noona can’t take it.
In anycase, I love this fancam from shinsoohyun.net (lovely place, by the way), mostly because he starts off almost despondent but lightens up considerably as the song progresses. His smile is wonderful.

Anyway, I wish them the best during the Japan promotions. Ganbatte! ❤❤
